Backing up your Project

This topic will cover the procedure to back up your project in Ex-Online.

Creating a Backup

  1. Open the project you wish to back up in the tag browser

  2. Open up the Project window by clicking on the circle with three dots next to the project name in the upper left extremity of the screen

  1. Navigate to the Backup tab

  1. Enter a name for your backup in the Backup Name textbox

  1. Click the Back Up button

  1. Backup progress and outcome will be displayed in ribbon notifications at the top of the screen. Once completed your backup will be listed in the table in the Backup tab of the Project window

Restoring a Backup

  1. Follow Steps 1-3 of ‘Creating a Backup’ to navigate to the Backup tab of the Project window.

  2. Select the Backup you wish to restore. Click the Restore button

  1. You will be prompted with a warning message. After reading and acknowledging the warning message if you want to continue restoring the backup click the Proceed button, otherwise click the Cancel button.

  1. A ribbon notification will appear from the top of the screen showing that the restoration of a project backup has been successful

Deleting a Backup

  1. Follow Steps 1-3 of ‘Creating a Backup’ to navigate to the Backup tab of the Project window.

  2. Select the backup you wish to delete. Click the Delete button

  1. You will be prompted with a warning message saying that this action is not reversible. After reading and acknowledging the warning click the Delete button to proceed with deleting the backup, or click the Cancel button to cancel this action.

  1. Ribbon notifications will appear showing that the deletion of a backup is in progress and whether it was successful. The deleted project backup will now no longer be in the table of the Backup tab.
